Today was a nice and hot day (31 ˚C). We wanted the problems of our motorhome to be fixed. We have now an appointment for tomorrow to get the brakes fixed and the leakage of our roof window was fixed this afternoon. The picture shows the church of the Mission Conception, which we visited yesterday.

Today we visited the Japanese Tea Garden and 4 Missions here in San Antonio. The Japanese Tea Garden was made at the place of a closed cement quarry and was opened in 1901. It has an interesting history and the today's state was opened in 2008. The picture shows a part of the garden.

Today we first searched for a car repair shop to do the service at our motorhome. It was much easier as we thought. The second company was willing to do it and wanted it to do it right away. Therefore we let them our motorhome and went to downtown with the bus. There we visited the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Later we went to pick up our motorhome. Everything was made and no further problems occurred. Only the brake problem is not solved. But the mechanic told me that the brakes itself work fine. The picture shows the Alamo. Here a very important battle between Texas and Mexico took place in 1836.

Today we traveled from Junction to San Antonio (190 km). On the way, the sky was covert with clouds. But in San Antonio, the weather was nice sunny and warm (20 °C). I made a hike along the river which flows next to the campground. Here I made the attached picture.

Today we traveled from Fort Stockton to Junction (314 km). When we started in Fort Stockton a heavy wind blew. Therefore some dust from the desert was in the air. The further we drove the better the weather became. In Junction, it was nice and warm (25 ˚C) and without wind. We had a nice evening with a colorful sunset at the South Llano River.

February 23, 2018

Today we traveled from Van Horn to Fort Stockton (201 km). Yesterday the dashboard showed a sign which says that there is a problem with the brakes. Today we visited a car repair shop. The result of the inspection was, that a sensor control box must have a problem and the brakes are fine. Like this, we can drive until we find someone to change the sensor control box. The picture was made some mile before Fort Stockton on Highway 10. The highway goes straight until the horizon.

February 22, 2018

Today we traveled from Deming in New Mexico to Van Horn in Texas (356 km). On the way, we passed Las Cruces and El Paso where we were already some months ago. And at Van Horn, we are at the same campground as at that time. The picture shows your arrival at Van Horn at sunset time.

February 21, 2018

Today we traveled from Tombstone in Arizona to Deming in New Mexico (338 km). On the way, we visited Tombstone again and the Queen Mine in Bisbee. The picture shows the re-enactment of the gunfight with Wyatt Erp and his brothers Virgil and Morgan and Doc Holliday against the Cowboys in front of the O.K. Corral which made this place world famous. The real gunfight happened behind the building.

February 20, 2018

Today we bid farewell to Stefan and Edith again and left Tucson eastward and traveled to Tombstone (183 km). On the way, we visited the San Xavier del Bac Mission, the Titan Missile Museum and the Western City of Tombstone. The picture shows the church of the San Xavier del Bac Mission.

February 18, 2018

Today we are still in Tucson. It rains here since about 3 days. Today an old man who lives here for a long time told me that this was never happening since he lives here. Today in the evening there were black clouds over Tucson as my picture shows.

February 17, 2018

Today we went to see an RV service company in the east of Tucson. On the way back we came by the Airplane Boneyard. Here are about 4000 airplanes from the US Air Force, the Navy, the Army, the Coast Guard, the NASA and other organizations stored. Some are used as spare parts for other planes, some are regenerated and others wait to be recycled. It's just amazing to see this.

February 15, 2018

Today we walked to and along the Pantano Wash to see if there is a water stream after the 18 hours of rain. But there was no water flowing. And we wanted to see some coyotes or bobcats which live in the wash. But we saw only a lot of rabbits and a small and injured snake as my picture shows.

On the Red Rock Scenic Byway, we saw a lot of nice red rocks and mountains. The picture shows such red rocks together with the chapel of the Holy Cross.

February 5, 2018

Today we traveled from Kingman to Sedona (365 km). A big chunk of the way we drove on the old Route 66. At Williams, the Route 66 led through the town. Since 1984 there is the I-40 which bypasses the city. The picture shows the Route 66 at Williams. Many places at the Route 66 got a hard time after faster roads were built. The businesses like gas stations, restaurants and motels didn't make any business anymore. Some places are lucky that there is another reason to attract tourists. Like in Williams is a train station from where the tourists can travel to the Grand Canyon.

February 4, 2018

Today we traveled from Las Vegas In Nevada to Kingman in Arizona (227 km). Kingman is at the old Route 66. The Mr. D'z Diner is one of the famous Route 66 places. It is still open and running.

February 1 - 3, 2018

To follow up the administrative things I needed this time two days. On February 3 we went to visit the strip in Las Vegas during the day and in the evening. The picture shows the Venetian Resort at sunset time.
